With a strong background in financial and tax-related matters, Andrew has successfully led and resolved a wide range of complex tax investigations. His expertise extends to both individuals and corporate entities, providing valuable insights into navigating the intricate landscape of tax laws and financial regulations. Both a Chartered Accountant and Trust & Estates Practitioner, Andrew has had a long and successful career as a tax investigations expert and headed the tax investigations offering of his previous firm’s Tax Support for Professionals service – providing real-time specialist advice to a network of hundreds of smaller accountancy firms and lawyers.  After 23 years at his last firm, he spent a number of years as Tax Investigations Partner for boutique firms based in London before joining Price Bailey in April 2023.  More about Andrew

Today, Andrew is well-known in the industry and frequently called upon by regulatory bodies and tax experts both in the UK and overseas for his specialist knowledge. He is a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) as well as an active member of the Tax Investigations Practitioners Group (TIPG) and the Contentious Tax Group, tax specialist member groups who support through knowledge sharing, CPD, cross-referrals and sounding boards for regulatory bodies.

Regularly commenting on the latest HMRC initiatives, significant contentious tax news, legislative changes, updates, and relevant case decisions, Andrew spearheaded the beginning of a contentious tax bulletin at Price Bailey to provide our clients, networks and wider audiences with the latest tax news that they should be aware of.

He is also a regular contributor to content for the Tax Journal, LexisNexis’s Taxation magazine, AccountingWeb, Accountancy Daily and other relevant trade publications and journals, including international finance and wealth management publications, IFC Review and IFA Magazine.  

A sought-after commentator on tax matters, Andrew has featured as a guest speaker for the ICAEW and, for multiple successive years, delivered technical briefings at the Transcontinental Trust Forum event in Bermuda attended by global Ultra High Net Worths (UHNW), Trustees, lawyers, family office practitioners and experts in both onshore and offshore wealth management and wealth protection. He has also featured on broadcast media for TalkTV and on technical podcasts for both STEP and Lexis Nexis.
