What we work on

Our PR and research team work on a range of projects, including:

The Finance Directors (FD) Index:

We’ve created the “Purchasing Managers Index” for the mid-market! Our survey of Finance Directors from Small and Medium-sized Enterprises tracks revenue, profits, and balance sheet changes, creating an economic indicator alongside expert analysis. It’s a game-changer for spotting economic trends and unveils evolving mid-market insights.

See our latest FD Index here:

  1. A tale of two regions
  2. Businesses scale back borrowing
  3. The balance sheet plans
  4. Smaller businesses struggle to access growth:

Bridging the Divide:

Aligning MPs and Business Owners on Key Priorities: Is there a disconnect between politicians and the business world? In March 2025, we’ll launch our survey of MPs and over 500 business owners to measure the alignment on key business issues. Expect insights into how the political and business worlds are (or aren’t) on the same page – and stay tuned as we track this gap over time.

The Midsized Company Review:

In May 2025, we’ll dig into the financials of businesses just over the audit threshold (£10m-£100m) to track profits, debts, margins, and more, over the past five years. It’s the data mid-market companies will want to see, coupled with exclusive analysis from our experts.

The Retirement Index:

What does the future look like for business owners today? In July 2025, we’ll launch our survey of owners aged 30-70, uncovering their retirement plans – are they selling, retiring, or staying the course? This unique survey will provide insights into the next wave of business exits.
